Who This List Is For
Genre-hopping viewers can use this 1997 survey without committing to a franchise. Its 25 suggestions place Good Will Hunting and Contact beside animation, international releases, and smaller comedies, making it useful for a year-based project with varied screening moods.
How to Use This List
Begin with an unseen title rather than automatically selecting the most familiar one. You might pair a revisit of My Best Friend's Wedding with a first watch of The Castle, then move to Children of Heaven. Confirm availability for the less familiar choices before setting a fixed weekly schedule.
Common Mistakes
The presence of Hercules, Anastasia, and Air Bud does not make this a children's watchlist. The Sweet Hereafter and The Wings of the Dove require separate audience checks. Avoid treating the order as a quality ranking or using one comedy to predict the tone of every other entry.
What Is on This List
Choices include The Full Monty, As Good as It Gets, Mrs Brown, Waiting for Guffman, Clockwatchers, and The Tango Lesson. Cats Don't Dance, The Borrowers, Mouse Hunt, and FairyTale: A True Story add other routes through the queue. Cross off titles you already own from your acquisition search, then track completed viewings separately.
When You Are Done
Record the film you watched before choosing another. After George of the Jungle or Flubber, consider a different part of the selection rather than repeating the same type of session. A short note on The Castle or Children of Heaven can help preserve discoveries that might otherwise get lost among familiar titles.
