How to use this list
Build around the New York mood you want. When Harry Met Sally... and Moonstruck are good for romantic city energy. Working Girl and The Devil Wears Prada center career-driven Manhattan stories. Choose Do the Right Thing, The Warriors, or The French Connection for sharper urban tension, and Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse for a vivid animated take.
Common mistakes
Do not expect every title to show the same version of New York. After Hours, Frances Ha, Inside Llewyn Davis, and West Side Story each use the city differently. Check ratings and content notes before choosing for a group, particularly for crime-focused or more intense films.
What is on this list
The selection includes Do the Right Thing, Working Girl, The Devil Wears Prada, The Warriors, and Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. Cross off movies you have already seen, then choose two or three that give you different decades and genres rather than repeating one city mood.
